What our apprentices build in their first year

Twelve apprentices start every September, in the foundry, the forge, the welding bay or the machine shop. Each one has a mentor on every shift.

By the following summer every apprentice has made at least one part that shipped to a customer, from pattern or drawing to final inspection. They sign the traveller like everyone else.

Two in three of our shift leads started here the same way.
