01Steel & alloy works · Since 1976

Metal, madeto the degree.

Melting, casting, forging and machining on one site. Every heat is sampled, logged and certified before a single part leaves the gate.

01About the works

An independent melt shop with fifty years of heat behind it.

We melt, pour, forge and finish steel and alloy parts for rail, energy, mining and marine customers who need the chemistry right the first time.

Founded in 1976 as a two-furnace jobbing foundry, we now run melting, forging, heat treatment and machining on one 14-hectare site in Deventer.

  • Family-owned, second generation
  • Independent of any mill group

To supply metal parts whose chemistry, structure and dimensions are proven before they leave the gate, on the date we agreed.

  • Test first, ship second
  • One record per heat

ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and EN 1090 EXC3, audited every year by independent third parties.

  • PED 2014/68/EU approved
  • AMS 2750 pyrometry

02What we do

Five processes, one site, one set of records.

Keeping every step under one roof means one schedule, one quality system and one heat number that follows your part from ladle to loading bay.

03Why the works

What comes with every order

No add-ons and no premium tier. This is the standard for a single casting or a five-year framework contract.

Metallurgists on every shift

Alloy questions are answered by the people running the melt, not by a call centre.

Heat-number traceability

Every bar, casting and forging carries the heat it was poured from, stamped on the part and on paper.

Accredited test lab

Spectrometry, tensile, impact and hardness testing on site, usually the same day.

Dispatch you can plan on

Delivery dates confirmed in writing and tracked weekly until the truck leaves the yard.

Export paperwork handled

Certificates, packing lists and customs documents prepared in-house for shipments worldwide.

Safety before speed

ISO 45001 audited. Every visitor, driver and contractor is inducted before the gate opens.

06Testimonials

What clients say once the parts arrive

“They re-poured a rejected batch of 42CrMo4 flanges in nine days and sent the melt report before the parts arrived. That is how a supplier earns a framework contract.”
MOMartin OduyaProcurement lead · Rail components
“The 3.1 certificates match the heat numbers on every bar. Our incoming inspection went from two days to two hours.”
SVSanne de VriesQA manager · Pressure equipment
“Casting, heat treatment and machining from one supplier means one schedule to chase. That alone was worth the switch.”
