EN 1090 execution classes in plain words

EN 1090 sorts steel structures into four execution classes. The class sets how much inspection, documentation and welder qualification the work needs.

Crane girders, press frames and anything that carries a moving load usually lands in EXC3. That means qualified procedures, coded welders, a responsible welding coordinator and more non-destructive testing.

We fabricate everything to EXC3 by default. It costs little extra on heavy work and nobody has to re-qualify a part later.
