Kalder started in 1964 as a two-man repair shop for the textile mills of Deventer. The mills are gone. The habit of making a part last stayed. Today 214 people machine, remanufacture and recover components for machine builders across Europe.

The mills close. Kalder switches to machine-builder work and buys its first CNC centre.
Quality system certified. Metrology room built.
Customers ask for worn assemblies to be brought back rather than replaced. A second business line is born.
Scrap and swarf sorted by alloy and returned to the mill. ISO 14001.
Two lights-out pallet cells added. Third shift runs unattended.
Three things we do not compromise on.
We build what is on the print, to the tolerance on the print, and we prove it with a measurement report. Deviations are agreed in writing before a chip is cut.
Programmes, fixtures and tooling are kept for every part number. The batch you order in five years runs the same way as the one you order today.
If a part can be remanufactured we tell you, even when new would earn us more. What cannot be saved goes back to the melt, certified.
